Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

FilingTrace (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the FilingTrace financial intelligence platform accessible at https://staging.filingtrace.com. For questions about this policy, contact us at support@filingtrace.com.

2. Data we collect

  • Account information: Your name, email address, and password (hashed) when you register.
  • OAuth data: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
  • Usage data: Companies you search, analyse, or add to your watchlist. Notes you create. Analyses run.
  • Billing data: Stripe handles all payment processing. We store your Stripe customer ID but not card details.
  • Email preferences: Your notification settings.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide the FilingTrace service, including running AI analyses and displaying company data.
  • To send email notifications you have opted into (risk changes, new filings, digests).
  • To process subscription payments via Stripe.
  • To improve the service and fix bugs.

4. Third-party services

  • Companies House API: We query the UK Companies House public API to retrieve company data and filed accounts. This data is publicly available.
  • Anthropic Claude AI: Filed account PDFs are sent to Anthropic's API for analysis. We do not send your personal data to Anthropic.
  • Stripe: Subscription billing. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Resend: Transactional email delivery.
  • Google OAuth: Optional sign-in. Subject to Google's privacy policy.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Analyses are cached for 30 days by default. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Danger Zone.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data; restrict or object to processing; and data portability. Email us at support@filingtrace.com to exercise any of these rights.

7. Cookies

We use only a single session cookie (set by NextAuth) to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We'll notify you of material changes by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
